THIRD EYE PICKS, IN STOCK NOW: HAWKEYE #3 — The new HAWKEYE ongoing series from MARVEL has been one of the freshest, most kick-ass new series we’ve seen this year, and issue #3 takes things to even greater heights!
Matt Fraction and David Aja, collaborators on the cult classic IMMORTAL IRON FIST, have reunited to bring a gritty, almost avant-garde take to the Avenging Archer, as they plunge Clint Barton deep into the Marvel Universe’s criminal underworld.
Acting as a modern day Robin Hood, and handling very down-to-earth, everyday kind of crime, the new HAWKEYE series combines the bravado of the famed Avenger with the gritty, street-level realism of something like 100 BULLETS, Bendis’s DAREDEVIL, or ALIAS.
Aja’s art is INCREDIBLE, and is very reminiscent of David Mazzuchelli on BATMAN YEAR ONE, which makes a perfect compliment to Fraction’s storytelling.
I can’t recommend this one enough, folks! Get into it!
