THIRD EYE PICKS OF THE WEEK: X-FILES CONSPIRACY #1 — First, it was IDW versus zombies. And, then, IDW versus CTHULHU. And, most recently, IDW versus Martians.
But, now, we’re going in a whole new direction, as the entirety of IDW’s licensed books enter into a really killer crossover with CONSPIRACY.
When the LONE GUNMEN discover internet files from the future, they learn that a plague will soon wipe out most of humanity!
With Agents Mulder and Scully working one lead, the Gunmen must spring into action and investigate several urban legends: a group of ghost-hunters, mutant turtles that live in the sewers, shape-changing alien robots, and a vengeful spirit from beyond the grave!

NEW COMIC DAY TOMORROW, OUR PICKS: BLACK DYNAMITE #1 — We’re a huge fan of both the BLACK DYNAMITE movie, as well as the ADULT SWIM series, so when we saw IDW was going to be bringing Black Dynamite and his crew to comics — we knew we had to hook it up with a special THIRD EYE variant of issue #1.
Illustrated by AFRODESIAC & SUPERMAG’s JIM RUGG, who also did the totally killer ’70s style WALKING DEAD Ghost variant a couple years ago — our Third Eye variant pays homage to the movies that inspired BLACK DYNAMITE, and has a very cool retro look to it.
As for the comic itself, it’s a pretty kick ass take from the fine folks at IDW, who’ve brought us favorites like LOCKE & KEY and SAMURAI JACK.
In issue #1, former CIA agent, international ladies man, and sworn ass-kicking enemy of The Man, BLACK DYNAMITE, returns to embark on the most dangerous journey of his life.
Pure grindhouse cinema awesomeness brought to the world of comics, this is a MUST-READ book, and for anyone who dug the BLACK DYNAMITE movie, will totally love the comic.
